The ONLY Itinerary You Need this Fall

Updated: Jul 15

With Fall just around the corner, outdoor activities are top of mind. And a trip to South Georgian Bay is a must when seeking unique experiences! With this in mind, Driftscape has curated the ONLY fall itinerary you will need on your next trip to the bay.

Welcome to South Georgian Bay!

Start your trip with a scenic stopover at Collingwood, ON. The Georgian Bay Hotel, located in the heart of Collingwood - and just a 4-minute drive from Collingwood Golf Course and 5 minutes from Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain, could be the perfect place to unpack!

Once you’ve settled in, head to the Black Bellows Brewery.

Fun fact: Built in the late 1800s, the Black Bellows brewpub was originally a blacksmith and carriage-making shop owned by the Dey family.

Today, the brewery forges a path for the adventurous. Whether you're in for food, beer, or art, this is the place to be.

Next up, is shopping time! Laced with unique local stores, a stroll along Hurontario St. is a must! Follow the street and head towards the peaceful sound of flowing water to experience the town’s beautiful marina and the Collingwood Terminals.

Tip: A short drive south from here is the magical town of Creemore. Locals highly recommend the Bank Café Creemore for baked snacks and the Creemore Springs Brewery for a sip!

Driftscape Dinner & Dessert Recommendation: Chez Michel for a fine dining experience. Save some room when you go to Tesoro’s for an espresso or a sweet treat!

Get your Adventure Mode On!

After a much-needed rest, start your day off with coffee and treats from Good Grief. A short drive up is our next stop, Thornbury - a 4 seasons village with hidden gems worth exploring.

Once you’ve enjoyed the unique hotspots of the village, drive inland towards the apple capital of Ontario - along with a drive across a unique topography, this region offers you access to apple orchards, wineries, and cideries. Don’t forget to stop by Ravenna Country for a well-deserved lunch.

Tip: Georgian Hills Vineyard and Spy Cider House and Distillery offer fun wine and cider tasting tours and a stunning view of the Georgian Bay!

End your Staycation with a Bang!

Before ending your trip, head for a spa session at the Scandinave Spa. Enjoy baths, saunas, and fireplace relaxation stations.

After feeling refreshed and relaxed, you can go to Gibson’s and Co. for lunch. This spot is beloved by everyone in town! They are famous for coffee, drinks, and light fare.

Last but not the least, wind up your staycation with a scenic drive out of town and stop at Wasaga Beach! Enjoy the beautiful fall walk on the world’s longest freshwater beach.
